Vibhuti kanaja cave- Joida(227 kms from wild woods spa)

It is a cave near Ulavi in Joida taluk. The visitors while visiting Ulavi temple can have the view of this cave. The devotees take a round of the cave and put vibhuti on their forehead. The right time to visit the cave is from September to March.

Akala Cave- joida(227 kms from wild woods spa)

The sculptural structure looking like the udder of a cow through which one will have to crawl in to the cave. After the entry the whole panorama transports the onlooker to a different world. It looks a nature’s bounty. It is believed Sharana Basavanna meditated here for many days without food. At that time a cow used to ooze out milk for him. When Basavanna got salvation, the cow in the form of a statue and gave water to those visited. That is called ‘Akalagavi’ or Cow Cave. To visit the different caves situated in Joida taluk August to March is the proper time.

Rudrakshi Mantapa Cave-joida(227 kms from wild woods spa)

A mantap(a small shrine like structure)is carved out of with the architecture comparing the Rudrakshi nuts and it is called Rudrakshi mantap. The cave is one among the many caves at Ulavi.

Akkanagamma cave-joida(227 kms from wild woods spa)

 

It is one of the caves 3kms away from Ulavi Temple. Akkanagamma, one of the Shiva sharanes(saint) meditated in this cave. So it is called Akkanagamma Cave. The visitors who come to Ulavi temple usually visit this cave. September to March is the time to visit this cave.

Bavali cave- yellapur(182 kms from wild woods spa)

 

Caves is situated between green hillocks and areca, coconut plantation and cave is a shelter for lakhs together bats. Hence called as ‘Bat Cave’, a small stream flows by the side of this cave. Suitable for research on bat and nature study. Entry and walk is possible only with torch and the help of local people. The suitable time to visit is august to march.

Giligundi cave-sirsi(137 kms from wild woods spa)

 

Cave has wide space inside provides shelter to bats. Small water source running infront of the cave has enhanced the beauty. It is very near to famous religious pkace Manjaguni. Wntry and walk is possible only with torch and the help of the local people. The suitable time to visit is august to march.
